Stat-403/650 - Assignments - 2010-1 Term
Depending on the level of TA support available for this course,
there MAY be approximately bi-weekly assignments that will be graded. Assignments will conform the following standards:
- They must be answered on standard letter sized paper, one-side only.
- Illegible or messy assignments will not be marked.
- Any computer output must be integrated into the text and must not be simply stapled to the end of the assignment.
- Every assignment should have the following
cover page
attached and completed to make it easier for the marker to keep track of the assignments.
- Please staple assignment pages in the upper left corner.
Please do not paperclips, otherwise
some pages may get lost.
- Please hand your assignments in class, at my office, or in the Stat and Act Science main office.
- Late assignments will not be accepted.
Assignments will be returned in class.
Using Computers:
The assignments will involve the analysis of real data.
You may use any computer package that you wish - refer the course notes for some
brief comments about packages.
DO NOT just staple any output to the end of the assignment.
Rather, cut and paste the relevant sections into the text as needed.
THINK OF WHAT IS IMPORTANT - trying to overwhelm me with extraneous output will be detrimental to your grade!
The university has a site license for several statistical packages
that are available for both Macintosh and non-Macintosh platforms.
Academic dishonesty:
Plagiarism or any other form of cheating in examinations, tests, or assignments is a serious academic offense and subject to academic penalty. Detailed information is found in the University Calendar.
