The Biostatistics Section of the Statistical Society of Canada was established in 1990. The Section aims to advance biometrics broadly, including medical, environmental, agricultural, animal population and biological sciences, through the development of statistical methods, effective applications, and the dissemination of techniques. The Section sponsors invited and contributed sessions and a workshop at the annual meeting of the Statistical Society of Canada and provides travel awards for students attending the conference to present a paper.
