Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Disability
Prevention and Principal Investigator of the
project Multimorbidity and Work Disability in
Canadian Nurses, the incumbent will be the
primary statistician on this project. The project
involves analyzing cross-sectional data, using
primarily structural equation modelling, from a
large cohort of over 18,000 Canadian nurses,
using a database housed at Statistics Canada’s Research Data Centre.
Duties
· To work with the Principal Investigator
and Co-investigators to design the statistical analyses for the project
· Independently select, conduct and interpret statistical analyses
· Prepare preliminary drafts of statistical results
Qualifications
Education and Experience
· Masters degree in statistics, epidemiology, or related field
· Minimum of three years experience in a similar role
· Previous experience working with Structural Equation Modeling
· Previous experience working with Statistics Canada data at RDC center
· Experience in healthcare, academic or research environments
Skills and Abilities:
· Solid knowledge of the following statistical methods:
- Structural equation
modeling with categorical and count outcomes
- Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses
- Multi-group analyses
- Latent class analyses
· Experience in using Stats Can large data sets and weights
· Knowledge of SEM software, such as Mplus
· Ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with staff
· Ability to work independently and within
a team environment and meet timelines
The recruiting hourly wage range for this
position is from $32.00 to $33.30 with 4% added in lieu of vacation.
The successful candidate will be required to
obtain Government of Canada security status
(which involves a criminal record check) to work
in Statistics Canada’s Research Data Centre as a condition of employment.
